The Brown Paper Bag Project for Clients of DCR
The Brown Paper Bag Project is an ongoing initiative that began in 2012 in collaboration with the Department of Community Rehabilitation.
Every month members decorate and pack brown paper bag lunches for clients of the DCR who are a part of the mental health court system in the Cayman Islands. The Department approached the Club to fund and to provide volunteers to ready the lunches. RCGC was more than delighted to help and 8 years and counting of the project being established, the Club is looking forward to more years of working with the DCR.
The Brown Paper Bag Project provides lunches for about 18 to 21 clients every month, some who do not have access to a healthy meal on regular basis. Each lunch consists of a hot sandwich or patty, a fruit snack, chips, an apple, and juice. Members meet on the evening prior to court to decorate bags with inspirational messages and pack lunches. These packed lunches are then delivered to the Department for distribution at court.

Blood Drives
Members of the Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman are encouraged to become blood donors for the Blood Bank at the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority.
The importance of donating blood is highlighted in an annual blood drive where members encourage and promote the community to donate blood either partnering or working with another club or organization or taking the initiative into their own hands.
Nadine Andreas Foster Home Outings
Over the years, RCGC has been involved with providing outings for the residents at The Nadine Andreas Foster Home.
It has been wonderful to develop a relationship with the home and with the residents. Members look forward to outings with the residents, staff and their families. The outings vary from Turtle Farm visits, Beach BBQs, Movie Outings and others fun activities throughout the year.
