What better decade to chose for the 2009 Rotaract Preconvention Social Programme considering Rotaract was created in 1968! Swinging Sixties was a youth-oriented phenomenon (a bit like Rotaract!) that swept throughout the UK and emphasized the new and modern. It was a period of optimism and hedonism, and can be described as a cultural revolution. We promise to show you a good time in Birmingham, the Heart of England, with a fun-filled social programme and the opportunity to network with fellow Rotary Family members from all over the world. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So why Brum09? You may be wondering why the website is www.brum09.com. Well Brum is a word you'll hear a lot as it is one of the nicknames for the city, which comes from the city's dialect name, Brummagem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please pass this email onto other Rotaractors in your MDIO/Country/District/Club - help to spread the word! We look forward to welcoming you to Birmingham and Swinging Sixties Britain!!
