Caymanian youth who are falling behind with their reading continue to receive assistance from Rotary Sunrise.

The one-to-one reading project gives a large group of youngsters a chance to sharpening their reading skills.

Results are very encouraging and real progress is being made, the club said, noting that literacy is a worldwide problem.

Youngsters in Guyana have a similar problem and the Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman, which is associated with Rotary Sunrise, have twinned with the Rotaract Club of George Town, Guyana, and are providing books and help to assist them.

The first consignment of books were shipped out two months ago and were very gratefully received, the club said.

Rotary Sunrise has given a cheque for CI$2,000 to help solve the reading problem.
