Rotary Sunrise invited Rotaractor Matthew Seales to be Honorary Sergeant at their breakfast meeting last week and he did a great job, the organisation said.

All Rotary clubs have Sergeants - a post where the individual appointed helps to control the meetings and often has a short session at the end of each meeting where he 'fines' members if they are late, if they take cell phone calls, forget their badges, if they are mentioned in the media or for a host of other reasons.

Mr Seales managed to fine almost all of the members and raised over $150. The cash raised in this way is used mainly for club administration.

Rotary Sunrise is a sponsor of the recently formed Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman. Rotaract is for a younger group between 18 and 30.

Rotary Sunrise has 22 members and they are extremely active. They have organized and enjoyed a Leadership course, and over half of them will be attending a Rotaract District Conference in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

In the meantime, they have completely repainted a house in East End and have been involved in a lot of other community good causes.

Rotaracts meet on Thursday mornings at 7:00 am at Harvey's Grill in George Town.
