Upon receiving a donation of approximately 100 children's books, the Club decided to forward this donation to the Nadine Andreas' Residential Foster Home, which is run by the National Council of Voluntary Organizations.

The NCVO's aim is to create a "family type" home and provide the essential ingredients that offer the children as normal a life as possible. During the book donation this past weekend (Sept 13), Rotaractors played board games & an exhilarating  game of "Spell It Dodge Ball", with the 7 children who reside full time at the home, keeping them happily occupied while the Foster parents, who live in the home along with another staff member, feverishly worked preparing a room for a new member of their "family", entering unexpectedly that same day. Our Club was lovingly received by the foster family and looks forward to many more opportunities for visits.

The children are placed through the Department of Children & Family Services and the Court either on a short-term or long-term placement according to circumstances. The Department of Children & Family Services contributes a monthly fee which assists with accommodation costs and all other necessities. The Home also receives a quarterly donation from the Nadine Andreas Trust which contributes towards operational costs. However, the NCVO relies heavily on other donations and fundraising activities to sustain this home.

Contact the Community Service Directors for information on how you can donate to assist the home!
